This past weekend Sharon Stone joined Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Robert Kennedy Jr., etc. in the club of people who make inappropriate/stupid claims in the wake of a natural disaster.

You've probably heard it by now, but she said the tragic Chinese earthquakes were as a result of the Chinese government's actions towards Tibet. Click HERE to see.

Which of course made the Chinese say, "擰緊您,您白膚金髮的妓女!!!"

... and now she is banned.

Her remarks triggered anger across the Chinese-language media and were called "inappropriate" by the founder of one of China's biggest urban cinema chains, who said his company would not show the Hollywood veteran's films.

Ng See-Yuen, founder of the UME Cineplex chain and the chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers said that actors should not bring personal politics to comments about a natural disaster that has left 5 million Chinese homeless.

UME has branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Hangzhou and Guangzhou, China's biggest urban movie markets. (

I mean, big whoop, right? Banning Sharon Stone films.... ewwwwww!!!! Americans have been banning her movies for years now.

Yep! But in a fat suit...

It was for her role in *Alpha Dog*. It's a very awkwardly entertaining scene.

Some people should just have their speaking privileges revoked.

I remember seeing her do a speech at some awards show on tv (the GLAAD awards maybe) and she went on and on about how her good friend Anne Heche couldn't get work for 3 years after she announced she was gay and Hollywood needed to get over its bias. I thought to myself "Maybe Anne Heche hasn't gotten work in 3 years because she's a bad actress."

I take no stock in what Stone has to say. She's a second rate actress at best.

Yeah, I would think the lack of roles for lesbians has more to do with Hollywoods lack of roles for WOMEN, and little or nothing to do with their sexuality.

Plus, as you said, Heche just isn't a very good actress.

And isn't Heche technically not a lesbian anymore anyways? Isn't she married to some dude, now? If so, and if Sharon Stone's theory was right, then Heche should be racking up those rolls right about now!
