THE MOVIES IN THEIR HEADS

On our trip home to Houston this weekend, we went to a hip poster gallery b/c I had read that one of the owners has a collection of Polish movie posters, specifically by Jan Lenica.

Most movie nuts have heard the story of these wacky film artifacts, but it was a hell of a bunch o' fun to look at them up close!

Here are the ones we saw....

WAGES OF FEAR (1953)

KNIFE IN THE WATER (1962)

REPULSION (1965)

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND (1977)

PLATOON (1986)

NEW YORK, NEW YORK (1977)

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER (1977)

THE MISSOURI BREAKS (1976)

I love Lenica!
I would love to own one of his posters.

I rented The Missouri Breaks when I was in high school, not realizing what a snoozefest it was. But I soon found out.

The dude at the shop said he was buying them when he was in high school for $.25 a piece. I have no idea if that's true or not, but now he's pushing them in between $175-$1000. I would love to own one too, but man... too much. We got to see other Lenica stuff - that weren't movie posters - but I didn't post any. They were equally as cool though!

And Tom! DUUUDE! Maybe someday you can give *The Missouri Breaks* another chance, perhaps??? For me? At least watch it for the bat sh*t crazy performance by Marlon Brando.
